Good Morning friends and happy weekend!! I hope all of you had a great week. Mine was really hard. Put in alot of OT at work and this old body isn’t used to that anymore. But, its the weekend now and time to focus on this ministry and the family coming over to see us today.

Now I know I am taking a bit of a risk with this subject matter but if you have known me for a while, you know I don’t shy away from controversy. I figure time is short and I may not have tomorrow so I need to say what God puts on my heart right? Right so here goes..

I went and saw Black Panther last night and while it was not your typical Marvel superhero movie, I did think it was very well acted, written, etc. I love that they did not shy away from certain subjects but at the same time was not confrontational about them either. The obvious one is the subject of slavery and this is where my blog gets murky for some….

See, many groups in human history have been enslaved including my own ancestors. I was raised as a Jew before coming fully to Christ so I understand more than people think about what it means to be enslaved by others. I also understand that the same enslaving mentality exists for many groups today, however the problem is deeper than just Jew, Black, Mexican, etc. Guess what friends, its ALL of humanity! We are all slaves!!

You might be thinking, ok this guy is nuts, I’m no slave, I’m free! Really? Let me give you all some Truth here….From the moment that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate from the Tree, all of humanity became enslaved to sin. For many years humanity had no choice, no recourse, just ask the Jews that for thousands of years had their backs broken for Pharaoh; or in modern day the African brothers and sisters that endured the same treatment from rich White landowners. Today these chains still exist in one form or another, but I announce to you there is a way to break those chains forever and for all of eternity through the Savior Jesus Christ!

The wages of that same sin that doomed us all so long ago was paid on the Cross of Calvary over 2000 years ago by God’s only Son. He loves us so much and wanted us free from what WE did that He sent His only Son to pay the ransom to our captor. How amazing is that? We can TRULY be free! Man may try and enslave you but God can break those eternal chains if you just ask Him to….

Friends, are you tired of being a slave? A slave to the ways and trials of this world? You still have time to be free! True freedom only comes through Christ and His amazing Grace. We need to come together as One under God and BREAK THE CHAINS! Can we do that today? Can we stop the finger pointing of racial and ethnic blame and point that same finger where it belongs to our true Enemy Lucifer? We can still achieve this my friends; if we really want do end slavery, let us look to the One that has already given us the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Thanks for reading everyone and please pass on this site to others if you have been helped in any way by what you read here. Blessings!
