Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone has been having a great weekend and enjoying some down time. I had a bit of a coughing fit last night and didn’t fall asleep until about 4:15 so just getting up and around. Coffee is in hand though and ready to fight another day.

Warped…Have you noticed how many things that God created have been warped into meaning something completely different today? Warped to the point that many do not even remember where it came from. I will bring 3 short examples to your attention this morning.

1. Marriage- this is the obvious one. Now before the hate train piles up on me I am not judging anyone because of their lifestyle choices; what I am saying is that God the Creator of all things also created marriage. He created it to be between one man and one woman. Today this has been warped into all different variations, none of which God intended.

2. Rainbows- This one in particular is intriguing because God created the rainbow as a sign of a promise between Him and mankind that He would never again destroy the Earth with a flood. A sign that still is shown today for those that constantly demand a sign that He still exists. Interestingly enough, this is the symbol that the Pride movement has embraced to promote their way of living. Again, not judging but make no mistake that the use of the rainbow is basically giving the middle finger to God and it is very intentional. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me coming from a group of people that preach about love for ALL people.

3. Fasting- This really gets my goat because fasting has become a new trend word just like blessing. We use the word but do not perform the action in the way it was intended. God created fasting as a way to give something up, for a temporary time, so we could spend more time with God in prayer. I guess that is why the tradition of Lent always has confused me because it seems more like a way to self promote rather than to spend more time with God. (And oh by the way, fasting was supposed to be done in secret. Don’t believe me? Look it up. I won’t do the work for you).

There are so many things that this world has taken from God and warped into a worldly and most of the time sacrilegious act. What others can you think of? Love to hear from you all.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Fake prophets and prophesies. When God used Prophets it was to either warn the people or to edify the church. Now it’s mostly I prophesy that this time next week you will be driving a brand new car with no money down. You just need to go down to the car lot and pick one out. If you have the faith 😒. Now I have had real prophecies spoken over me that dealt with warning and edification but these get rich prophecies is very warped Imo.

    1. Yes! A great example my friend. Just like the guy that wanted his followers to raise 54 million dollars for a private jet for his “ministry”. He even said “Jesus wouldn’t ride a donkey”. Actually He did!! OMGosh…

      1. Exactly! In Bible times the prophets and apostles traveled by foot, pack mules or ship. However, I seriously doubt that it was on an expensive private ship. I remember once a few years ago after I lost my job and didn’t have a dime to my name my mom and I attended this revival that we heard about on the radio. They had it set up where as you stand in line for prayer they had the offering basket right next to the “prophet” when it was my turn he told me I have a word from God for you then he noticed that I didn’t put anything in the offering basket. When he asked I told him I lost my job and didn’t have anything. He then told me when I get a new job to remember my obligation to him not to the church but to him then pushed me out of the way. He refused to tell me what “God” had to tell me because I didn’t sow into him. Here’s the thing when God has a word for you it’s not based on what you have to give. Sorry so long.
