Lessons Learned

Good morning friends, I hope you all are having a great weekend so far free of stress and pain. For those that are dealing with the pains of this life, know you are loved and being prayed for. God has your back and one day the pain will be gone forever!

So, yesterday I made the mistake of making what I thought was an innocent enough post on Twitter. My family and I have been planning for a year and a half about this family vacation and was super excited about sharing it with all my friends. Then out of nowhere (and I won’t rehash the whole conversation) I was called a Satan worshipper because we are going to Walt Disney World. I was told that if I am not already, soon I will make Satan my lord and all because I went to Disney World. Well ok…. This turned into a long tirade that went back and forth for while. I eventually blocked this person but the nonsense went back and forth for a while. I was told that as a Pastor I should “know better” and that I should never give my money to a place that worships Satan. So with that said a few things…

1. I have heard all the conspiracy theories about Walt Disney World and most of it is nonsense. Walt Disney World is no more evil than anything else in this world. Do they support things I do not? Yes. But they also bring joy to millions of people and have so for years. Until I see upside down crosses and Satan running amuck down Main Street USA, I will continue to go there.

2. Last time I checked I thought we left the judgment to God. There is nothing wrong with giving an opinion or loving correction but to call me a Satan Worshipper because I go to Disney World is a trait of Lucifer himself, not a Christ Follower. We are called to LOVE, PERIOD.

3. I guess what really disturbed me the most is that I spend a lot of time writing out these posts and lessons and THIS comment from this person got more attention than anything else I have ever written. To say it was discouraging was an understatement. For a brief moment I thought of completely giving up on this blog, social media, everything. Then I realized I’m not letting one jerk get in between what God has planned for me.

Lesson learned? Twitter has this great feature called “block” which I will be using a lot more. More important lesson? As we get closer to the Lord’s return, the true Christ Followers are being separated from the imposters. We all fall short and we all makes mistakes, however, a lack of love and a Spirit of judgment is not of God.

Father my prayer today is that we have a Spirit of Love and not Judgment to all and use the words that come to our minds carefully. We understand that words are like a double edged sword and can be divisive or bring other together. Let our words bring us together. In Jesus’ name…..

Dav I’m being honest with you here, I really laughed at this post lol not pertaining to the message but how you mentioned the part with the devil lolol it was funny lol sorry but its not us to judge. God is the ONLY righteous judge. That wasn’t nice or should I say Christlike of that person to do! But we must forgive as God does and move forward.
    Blessings, peace & love! ❀
