Ok so almost all my blog posts are Spiritual in nature and I have no disillusions that I will write anything else on a permanent basis but I thought I would try something WAY different tonight. A little snapshot into my life right now…
As some of you know, my wife and I moved in with her parents to help them out financially so that they wouldn’t lose their home. I mean, its the Jesus thing to do right? So with that said, please understand that I was raised in a extremely strict home when it comes to table manners. No elbows, chew with your mouth shut, you know the drill. There were two things though that would have gotten me slaughtered quite literally at the table which for some reason my in laws do and it makes me die a little each time.
1. Burping and farting at the table.
2 (And this is the biggie); I literally saw my Grandfather almost beat someone up in an restaurant once for this…BLOWING YOUR NOSE. I mean who doesn’t want to see some good ole snot with their food.
I told you this would be different; please help! How do I combat this??
Agape Love,
David
I would just confront them as gently as possible. If they don’t respond well, then I would eat in a different room. I pray it works out and you guys have a great Thanksgiving! God bless!

Hmm well I suggest you make mention to them about it. You know let them know what you stand for in a kind approach of course, not hastily. And see if they would abide afterwards, it may not happen overnight but eventually they will see what you stand for and come to a place where they’ll accept and all can eat comfortably as one at the table π
Blessings & love my brother! It is not end of the world….just yet π ha!

That certainly was different. With me, when I sense that I am about to do any of that, I leave the room IF I REMEMBER. Not sure if that answers your question or not.
Nearly beating someone up for just blowing your nose at the table is, forgive me for saying so, a little too far.

While true it was meant to be a joke, sometimes in writing you over exaggerate something to make a point……
