Be Careful

Good morning everyone and welcome to the weekend! I’m not sure about all of you but this week seemed to take forever to get through. Lots of stuff going on at work, so I am truly grateful for my time off this weekend. How about all of you? Comment below!

So..what’s your secret? Have I grabbed your attention yet? Good. Because today I am writing about something that we all as Christians need to get a grip with; we ALL have secrets. Some we have shared with those closest to us, others we have shared with no one but God Himself. Point still remains that we all have done something in our lives that we have done to which very view people know about.

Why is this important today? Why is this important to Christians today?

I will tell you! It is important because I see a lot of judgment going around in my Christian circles and its disturbing on so many levels despite the fact that “yes we are called to judge each other as believers“. So let’s get a couple of points straight on that..

  1. To judge each other in this context does not mean to be harsh or nasty to others that make a mistake. It means to help hold each other accountable IN AGAPE LOVE, and guide our fellow believers out of bad decisions. Not to sit around on the internet and mock them or doubt their faith.
  2. Have all the planks really been taken out of your eyes? (This is where the secret part comes in.)

Number 2 is where we really lose many people because, well, let me put it this way. Let’s say that I had the ability to record your every thought, your every hidden action, your every emotion and desire and not only see and hear all of this but also put it on a 100 inch movie screen for all to see.. Would you still feel empowered to judge your neighbor? To doubt others claims of Salvation? Guess what friends, it’s GOING to happen. The passage from Luke above is clear; one day all of these things will be revealed. How would this make you feel if I was the one doing this? You would probably be less inclined to throw others under the bus and worry about yourself, Amen?

Look friends, I am all for helping others in their walk with Jesus. We ALL need help and can always be better by taking counsel of those that may be wiser than us in certain areas. BUT, what we need less of is the judgment and condemnation that so many in the Church are offering. Jesus told us that before we can judge others, we must judge ourselves. Have you done that today? Have you taken complete ownership of those secrets you carry around?

Yes, Jesus has set us free, but that freedom does not give you the power to judge others and condemn. You have been given 2 main missions while on this Earth and they are this:

  1. To Love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, and strength and to love others greater than you love yourself.
  2. To spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all that will hear.

Today, let us focus on those two missions and let God be the judge, Amen? May God bless each and every one of you this day and all God’s people said?

Agape Love,

David

Monday!

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ NLT)

Have a blessed Monday everyone!

Agape Love,

David

Why So Angry?

Fools give full vent to their rage but the wise bring calm in the end.

Proverbs 29:11

Good morning everyone and welcome to another installment of Radically Saved! I want to thank each of you that have prayed for my family this week as my Bride had to endure another surgery. She is home now and resting but it breaks my heart to see her continually have to go through this stuff. God is good though and is getting her through it. So, thanks again and keep those prayers coming!

Since my Twitter account has taken off in recent weeks, I have way more exposure to things that I used to never see. One of those things is an anger that is frustrating to see. Now I’m not talking about the “left” or the “liberals”, “atheists”, whichever label you want to give them; no this anger is from self professed Christian Brothers and Sisters. Friends, this is disturbing…

For example, yesterday I posed this question (which admittedly was for a dual purpose, one to get a genuine answer, but also to see the level of disdain people would have who did not agree with their position).

“Which of the following do you believe in”

  1. Pre-Trib Rapture
  2. Post-Trib Rapture
  3. No Rapture

As expected this question, at least to me, revealed a lot of hearts. Not because of their answer but because of their reaction. For many it was almost like people were questioning one’s salvation if they did not agree with their answer. (Most answered Pre-trib as expected). It also showed a level of closed mindedness that I would not expect from a Believer in Christ.

Friends, no matter what you believe about the Rapture, it is still a THEORY. A theory I might add that was not even discussed until fairly recently on the Spiritual timeline. So chances are we are ALL wrong about the events that include Jesus’ Return for His Bride.

So why the anger and hostility? Are we all so educated and smart when it comes to Scripture that there is NO chance that you could be wrong on your position? Now if we were discussing the fact that Jesus is the Son of God I would say yes! There is no discussion on that! But this is something that none of us truly understands, YET, our anger is way out of control here.

Its not just this topic either, so many think they are “experts” in the field and when they are challenged, they turn into the character above. Is this an attribute of Christ? Do you not think Jesus was challenged on the validity of His claims? Did He ever once start a fight or insult others based on their disagreement with Him? No and neither should we…

So, in closing, two things:

  1. Even if you feel strongly about a position you have, never be so closed minded that you can’t be teachable. Only One person was perfect and its not you or me.
  2. Always respond to others that disagree with you in love. Believe it or not, even in this crazy world, two people can disagree with each other and still be respectful.

Friends, today let us fall more in love with Jesus Christ than ever before. And in doing so, let us be more like Him in ways we may have thought impossible before. Let the world see that we are truly different, that we have the very Light of God Himself in us, and that we are approachable for positions that may differ from theirs. Just because someone does not live their faith exactly like you do, does not make it any less real. Amen?

Daily Transformation

“If anyone would come after me let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me”

(Luke 9:23)

Good morning everyone and welcome to the weekend! Not gonna lie its been a hard week. Work has been crazy, my diet has been all over the board, and half the family is sick (to which I ask for your prayers because as we all know, this guy doesn’t handle sickness very well). In any case, we made it right? God is good and will always be there for us and never forsake us!

I titled this entry “Daily Transformation” because over the course of my social media growth, I have seen this disturbing trend that you only repent and ask forgiveness of your sins once. Before you all send the hate mail, please know I am not talking about Salvation. I believe with all my heart that if you have TRULY accepted Christ as Savior and asked Him to come into your life and pay the fee for your sins, then you are saved; period. Nothing can now destroy that relationship.

What I am talking about is our growth. Many feel that your initial act of repentance only happens once. That when you are saved this magic cloud comes upon you and you will never sin again. FALSE. Only ONE human ever walked or will ever walk on this planet without sin and I promise you its not you; and its surely not me, only Jesus Christ can make that claim. That is why Paul spoke the above message so clearly; once again..

If anyone would come after me let him deny himself, take up his cross DAILY, and follow me

(Luke 9:23)

Daily, Daily, Daily. Did you catch that? Daily. We must take up our Cross DAILY and follow Him. What do we think picking up that Cross means? It means that every day no matter how great you think you are, you sin. Just by breathing the air in this world, you sin. Once you have been saved, isn’t that sin paid in full? Absolutely! Again, we are not talking about Salvation but becoming more like Christ every day. To do that we must…

  1. Ask God every day to fill our souls with His Spirit
  2. Spend time in His Word every day
  3. Apply (Live) what you have read in His Word, yes, every day.

The list can go on and on, however, you get the point. We know that Paul was totally sold out to God, and we can be, as well. Sin, the flesh, and this world will continually vie for our attention and demand our participation. But when we die daily (repent), we consider ourselves unable to respond to those temptations. A dead man has no personal agendas or rights. He is not tempted to sin because he is dead to everything around him.

Do we not want this type of life with Christ? We are called to more than just avoid Hell; we are called to grow and fall more in love with Jesus every day. Amen?

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Agape Love,

David
