My Dental Update- 18 Days

Good morning friends! Well, for the first time since my procedure back in December, I am comfortable enough to show you a picture of the final result. For those of you that do not know my story, let me give you a quick synopsis.

For various reasons which I wont bore you with, I have struggled with dental problems my whole life. Most of those reasons are my own fault but nevertheless, I was a mess. Missing teeth, major loss of bone structure, and with it an enormous amount of pain. The hardest thing for me though was near the end where I had to look in the mirror every day and see this nasty face looking back at me. Those that love me never thought of me that way but I did and it was a constant psychological battle. Overweight, toothless, and seemingly without hope.

Then one day I decided that one way or another, the rest of my teeth were going to come out either on their own or the proper way. So, I asked my family to be on the lookout for a place that would help me. I couldn’t afford the 25k for permanent replacements, so I would need the remaining 18 teeth I had left pulled, then dentures. (I’m only 49 so the thought of dentures was frustrating). One day, my son Josh told my wife Marcy about this place called Afdent Dental. They seemed pretty reputable, so my wife made the consultation appointment.

They confirmed what I already knew that there was no saving the teeth I had left and that because of my artificial hip, it was important to get all that out so that infection didn’t make its way to the hip. (Which would have opened up a very bad set of circumstances). So they gave me the estimate of what extractions and new dentures would cost and after praying and discussing it with my wife, I decided to pull the trigger.

I must stop here and say that I knew from the minute I walked into Afdent that this place was going to be good. As you can imagine I was deathly afraid of dentists and they were super nice and made me feel extremely comfortable. Never passed judgment on my situation, they just genuinely wanted to help me. I also never felt pressured like most places do as they are just out to take your money. So, if you are struggling with this and need a place to turn to, I HIGHLY recommend Afdent Dental.

So, on December 30, 2020, I had the 18 teeth that were left pulled and the healing process began. I will say that overall the procedure was not as bad as I had feared, but there was quite a bit of pain because of my bone loss and all the filing down of bone they had to do to get all the infection out. Through prayers and the help of my friend Norco, I was able to return to work the next day and start healing up. For the next 4 weeks, I went back and forth to the dentist to check my healing and get my mouth molded for my replacements. (In some ways that was just as painful as the extractions, but again, they were very understanding and patient with me).

Finally on February 2, I came home with the finished product which you can see in the picture above. I will say that having a full set of teeth in my mouth for the first time in over 20 years has been a challenge. At first I wanted to just throw those suckers in the garbage and give up. But, I was determined to fight through the pain and frustration to achieve this part of my transformation.

I will say I feel I am ahead of schedule as I have been able to eat things such as steak, chicken, and pasta. (In very small bites). It also has helped with weight loss as since December 30th I have lost 13 pounds. It simply is so much work right now to cut up my food and discover this new way of chewing, that my portions have decreased three fold. This is truly helpful as portion control has always been my issue.

So, this is my story. I have a “reline” visit in May and then 2 more after that this year before the final liner is put in my dentures. Today though, for the first time in I can’t remember how long, I am pain free in my mouth and can look in the mirror now without total disgust. I can speak to others without the wondering if they are only seeing the missing and nasty teeth. While I still have work to be done, (and I do have my struggle bus days), I am pleased with the first phase of my transformation and I look forward to the days and months to come.

God bless everyone and thank you for reading,

David

What Are We Pursuing?

Spiritual Warfare is real; defend yourself accordingly

Good Saturday Morning friends! I did it! Two Saturday’s in a row I am writing in my blog. I really want to get back to writing more but baby steps ya know? I hope and pray everyone had a good week and is able to take a couple of days of down time and relax.

This week coming up is going to be a big one for yours truly; more to come on that. 🙂

Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
– Isaiah 55:1-2

What are you pursuing?

As I was reading my morning devotional, I knew that I had to write about this passage. Today, more than ever, we need to be focused on what is truly important. For so long, we have been focused on things such as money, careers, “the hustle”, and yes even the nasty cuss word right now politics. All the while we have pretty much put God on the shelf.

Oh yes we will do our morning devotionals, go to church, heck we might even fill our social media posts with timely and feel good messages. But are we pursuing Him? What are we pursuing in His place? Do we have any wonder why we always feel frustrated with our lives?

Today I am here to tell you that God wants us to pursue Him full-time! Not just for a few minutes every morning, but in all times and in all circumstances. As the above passage shows us, why spend all of our pursuit on things that only provide temporary strength? Why spend our money on things that will bring us no joy (or only temporary joy). Pursue the things of God and He will provide “the finest food” and all for FREE. (At least for us- It was not free for Jesus)

One final example, for all you gym rats out there? How much time did you put in to making your body healthier and looking better? (Not that there is anything wrong with exercise and eating right-save the hate mail). Now, how much time did you put into making your relationship with God healthier and stronger? I think for all of us the answer is that we spent more time on situation one. And yet we still wonder why we stay frustrated and never satisfied……Making sense?

Friends, I’m not saying to stay in your prayer closet 24/7 and not live your life (although these days that isn’t such a bad idea). We still have to work, exercise, and do the things God has called us to do, but we can still do all those things for HIM. We can make sure that we are not in it for OURSELVES but for HIM. You know who else was all about themselves? Lucifer; and we all see how that turned out….

Start today pursuing our first real love; Jesus Christ. Give Him your all and so all things through Him. Amen? I pray you have a blessed day and please, leave your thoughts and comments below. I would love to hear from you! Also, if your a Twitter peep; follow me at @Gods_Warrior91.

In His Glory,

David

It’s Going To Be Biblical!

Well hello everyone! It’s been a while! Not sure how many will even be reading this as suffice it to say I have not been consistently writing anymore. I have been focusing alot on my YouTube ministry and just life in general. So, if you are still here….THANK YOU! I promise to try and be more engaging…

So, alot going on in the world since we last chatted huh? COVID, the Election, Riots, you know all kinds of “fun” stuff. For a long time it was depressing as we watch the country tear itself apart with no end in sight. Well, then last week I started to take a different perspective.

The phrase, “It’s going to be Biblical” is getting thrown around alot. That said, they are not meaning an actual Biblical event is going to happen, but instead a secular event so large it will seem as if it is straight from the Bible. I think many have it backwards. I think, there is an event coming that will be Biblical but instead EXACTLY from the Bible.

See, for the End Times scenario to fully unfold, America seemingly needs to be out of the way. Most Americans would never agree, voluntarily, to the things the Bible talks about in Revelation. So, with America out of the way, things can get moving. I’m sorry to say that things never go back to normal friends; sides have been chosen, minds and hearts have been closed, and that is simply reality. Jesus warned us times would be like this, and yet we act shocked.

My friends, my message today is that I hope you are ready for what is to come. Much will be required of you in the days, weeks, and months ahead. Either way this election ultimately turns out, America will be worse for it. Worse because we are no longer the United States of America, but the Divided States of America. One thing though, Jesus is still in control! God knew all of this would happen and has it all worked out.

While I support the President and agree with him in this fight, he has exposed the evil that has always been there but hidden. Now with the demonic presence there for all to see, we must be faithful more than ever! We must abide by God’s Word more than ever, and most of all we must use this opportunity to bring people to Jesus Christ more than ever. Amen?

This has always been about Good vs. Evil; this day whom do you serve? Be ready because it indeed is going to be Biblical! Look up!

God Bless,

David

COVID FREE!

Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday!

As I write this to you I am almost 100 percent COVID free! What a challenging time this has been. It definitely has changed my perspective on this topic and I would not wish this on anyone….My wife and I had a “mild” case and it was Hell; I can’t imagine what people go through that have had it alot worse than we did…

So, many of you used to follow my blog and for various reasons I stopped writing. I am praying about writing a book and would like to know who all is still out there following this blog. If you are could you kindly “like” this entry as I am starting the process of thinking about where to write this. (I’m not even sure what I am going to write about, just know it will be weird LOL).

I pray that all of you out there are doing well and as always I appreciate you all. Looking forward to interacting with you all again soon!

God Bless,

David

I’m Enough For Now

I may not be perfect but I’m me.

I may not fit inside anyone’s box, but I’m genuine.

I may not be the perfect Christian, but Jesus knows my heart and He has a plan.

I will never be what the world or some of you expect but I will always be real and genuine for that is the only way I can ever get better.

For some that is enough,

For others it is not,

Either way, it’s ok.

At the end, I will be all that God has called me to be.

In Jesus name,
D

Jesus Is Lord!

Good morning again and Happy Sunday! I hope you all made it through the work week unscathed and are ready for a nice relaxing weekend. It was a tough one for me I know in all areas; Spiritually, Physically, and Mentally so I am hoping for a bit of a break from the battle, Amen?

Ok so I have really been on this struggle bus if you will between telling the Truth’s of the Gospel and yet still not causing division in the process. I mean, what good is telling others the Truth about Jesus if they aren’t going to listen because of the content of your message. In this world we live in now, if it isn’t a message about self love and “what’s in it for me?” most don’t listen. Want to know what I’ve discovered today? It’s impossible….

As with all things let us look at Jesus’ ministry shall we?

1. He only had twelve disciples; one of which was being controlled by Satan.

2. Very few people He encountered understood what He was saying much less acted upon it.

3. People hated Him because of the message He brought.

4. Even His own disciples doubted His message at times.

5. In the Garden, even Jesus was so distraught over the Truth of what was going to happen, He was sweating blood! (Luke 22:44)

So, with all of that, do you think my results will be any different? I would say that if the Son of God Himself faced all of these things, its a good bet that I will as well. Amen? So what to do….Well, I can just give up and sit in the corner waiting for Jesus to return or I can do what Jesus did and just continue to tell the Truth in Love of His Gospel message. Will I offend people? Yep. Will people block and unfriend me? Yep. Will people even get angry and insult me? Yep. But you know what? No matter what they do to me will ever match up to what Jesus had to endure. The same goes for all of you; don’t be afraid today, be BOLD!

And with that here are some plain and simple Truths…

1. There is a God that created everything in the Universe including you and me. (We did not come from pond scum)

2. Jesus of Nazareth was a real person on this planet that had a ministry that produced many miracles. (And oh by the way, that person was also God’s only Son and the Savior of all mankind.)

3. Jesus died a real death on the Cross of Calvary and endured physical suffering like no other.

4. Three days after His death, He rose again and appeared to hundreds if not thousands of people.

5. After a time, He ascended back to Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father until His calling to come back.

6. He WILL becoming back, except this time in Judgment for those that refused to follow God and the way of true love through Christ.

7. Those that have given their heart to Jesus will enter into Heaven with Jesus for all eternity. Those that do not will live their eternity in a VERY REAL PLACE called HADES. (I promise you it exists…..)

8. No matter what you have done, you can still come to Jesus today! He loves you more than you can imagine and is there for you. All you have to do is ask! Jesus is a gentleman and will never force His way into your heart; you have to invite Him in.

9. No one goes to the Father BUT THROUGH HIM (Jesus). Not Mary, not Paul, not Saint whoever, JESUS AND JESUS ALONE IS THE WAY TO THE FATHER!

10. You are not promised tomorrow so secure your future today! (Also, secure your present; Jesus said we can experience the Kingdom of God right here!)

Friends, I hope you take some time to digest all of this and evaluate where you stand. Time is short and the decision to make may be made for you if your not careful. I appreciate and love all of you and if you agree with these Truths, please share this message with someone today! (Reblog, repost, like, whatever, just share it). Not for my glory, but for His! Amen!

Talk soon,

David

Let It Go!

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! This get your attention? I know it can be annoying but Frozen is one of my favorite all time Disney movies and honestly can’t wait to see the upcoming Broadway version. So many positive messages in this movie along with some God inspired vocals for sure. The Frozen “Let it Go” is not what this message is about however so get ready to really Let it Go!

Colossians 3:15  “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

So often in our lives we deal with daily struggles and with that we are always looking for a way out of those struggles. Health issues, job issues, just every day life issues are always disrupting us and preventing us from having peace. More than anything worrying picks us up in the air and face-palms us right into the ground, But what I find fascinating is that the resource for escaping all of this is right in front of us yet we avoid it like the plague; Jesus.

You see when we make Jesus our Savior, like the passage above says, He gives us a peace inside of us that we can tap into whenever we need it. We have died to our former selves and now have become a “new creation” in Christ Jesus! Yet, we continue to look for earthly ways to obtain that peace and then wonder why we always struggle.

I often hear that its not easy to do; of course it isn’t! You have an Enemy who hates the very fiber of your existence who is always whispering that you have no hope! But the devil is a liar and so are those words! No earthly words, preaching, or advice can give you what the peace of Jesus Christ can, NOTHING! Yet we turn to “experts” on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, yes even WordPress before we go to the only One that can give us what we desire so greatly.

Friends, as a Christ follower you have two choices here; One- you continue to live for the world and live a life of worry, struggle, depression, and frustration. Or two- You place ALL of the worry, struggle, depression, and frustration in your life and give it to Jesus where He will replace that with a peace beyond understanding. I told my middle son the other day that I honestly fear nothing anymore and its true! I struggle still yes but with God in my life, what do I need to fear? Fear this decaying peace of meat that is only a vessel to get around this planet? Nothing can destroy the real me that is inside and that God will always protect.

Today everyone, just LET IT GO! Break the chains of worry, fear, and frustration and watch Jesus change your life!

In Christ,

David

It’s Jesus Time

For the afternoon crowd. God Bless!

✝️The Rebellion✝️

Good morning everyone! Welcome to Friday! I know that is has been a while since I have written in this blog. Needless to say 2020 has been a bit distracting. However, I was blessed enough to get a really nice laptop that my wife agreed to and so I am back with my first post in a while. Forgive me if my writing skills have faded a bit, I’m sure they will be back shortly…

So, 2020, we have just about seen it all. Plagues, riots, economy in shambles, you name it, we have seen it. Never before in my life have I seen our country, heck our world, in such disarray. For me as a Christ Follower, however, it is not unexpected.

See, the Bible has predicted all of this thousands of years ago. That the world would go through a time like never seen before. A little secret…

Why So Angry?

Fools give full vent to their rage but the wise bring calm in the end.

Proverbs 29:11

Good morning everyone and welcome to another installment of Radically Saved! I want to thank each of you that have prayed for my family this week as my Bride had to endure another surgery. She is home now and resting but it breaks my heart to see her continually have to go through this stuff. God is good though and is getting her through it. So, thanks again and keep those prayers coming!

Since my Twitter account has taken off in recent weeks, I have way more exposure to things that I used to never see. One of those things is an anger that is frustrating to see. Now I’m not talking about the “left” or the “liberals”, “atheists”, whichever label you want to give them; no this anger is from self professed Christian Brothers and Sisters. Friends, this is disturbing…

For example, yesterday I posed this question (which admittedly was for a dual purpose, one to get a genuine answer, but also to see the level of disdain people would have who did not agree with their position).

“Which of the following do you believe in”

  1. Pre-Trib Rapture
  2. Post-Trib Rapture
  3. No Rapture

As expected this question, at least to me, revealed a lot of hearts. Not because of their answer but because of their reaction. For many it was almost like people were questioning one’s salvation if they did not agree with their answer. (Most answered Pre-trib as expected). It also showed a level of closed mindedness that I would not expect from a Believer in Christ.

Friends, no matter what you believe about the Rapture, it is still a THEORY. A theory I might add that was not even discussed until fairly recently on the Spiritual timeline. So chances are we are ALL wrong about the events that include Jesus’ Return for His Bride.

So why the anger and hostility? Are we all so educated and smart when it comes to Scripture that there is NO chance that you could be wrong on your position? Now if we were discussing the fact that Jesus is the Son of God I would say yes! There is no discussion on that! But this is something that none of us truly understands, YET, our anger is way out of control here.

Its not just this topic either, so many think they are “experts” in the field and when they are challenged, they turn into the character above. Is this an attribute of Christ? Do you not think Jesus was challenged on the validity of His claims? Did He ever once start a fight or insult others based on their disagreement with Him? No and neither should we…

So, in closing, two things:

  1. Even if you feel strongly about a position you have, never be so closed minded that you can’t be teachable. Only One person was perfect and its not you or me.
  2. Always respond to others that disagree with you in love. Believe it or not, even in this crazy world, two people can disagree with each other and still be respectful.

Friends, today let us fall more in love with Jesus Christ than ever before. And in doing so, let us be more like Him in ways we may have thought impossible before. Let the world see that we are truly different, that we have the very Light of God Himself in us, and that we are approachable for positions that may differ from theirs. Just because someone does not live their faith exactly like you do, does not make it any less real. Amen?

Agape Love,

David
