Today’s message will be quick but maybe not painless. There are a few “non-negotiables” when it comes to my faith in Jesus Christ that are not open for discussion. So much so that I am not even willing to have debate on these for if any of these are changed even in the slightest, the bedrock on which our faith is built no longer exists. Here they go.
God is the Creator of all things that exist.
God created the world in six actual days.
God created the world without sin; WE (Adam and Eve) brought it upon ourselves.
God still so loved His Creation that He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty WE should have paid; He paid it by dying crucified to an actual Cross in Calvary.
Jesus laid in the tomb for 3 days before He rose again.
After His resurrection, He walked among His people for a time and then ascended to the right hand of the Father.
One day, at a time only known by the Father, Jesus will come again to judge the Earth and restore things how they were intended to be.
The Bible is the inerrant Word of God, written by man but inspired by God. (I am willing to discuss translation issues as the Bible we read today is not in the same format it originally was, however, it is still the Word of God and the only source of Truth for how God calls us to live as well as all other aspects of why we are here.)
Marriage was designed to be between One Man and One Woman.
There is a very real place that awaits God’s people after we die called Heaven. There is also a very real place that awaits those who reject Him called Hell. Both places are eternal and will not be changed.
Again, for me, these basics are not open for discussion. If after reading this you choose not to be a part of my ministry, that’s ok. I for one, however, am tired of seeing the Church community divided on basic Godly Principles so I am making a stand.
Good morning again! Your friendly neighborhood blogger is here with another message for you today. I don’t know about all of you (and I preface this with saying there are others out there that have had it alot worse than me this week) but this past week was about one of the worst ones I have had in a very long time; let me spell it out for you..
I got this stupid bug that is going around; the company I work for had to make some very difficult decisions so saying the mood was somber would be an understatement; as a result of my hip replacement my knee is healing alot slower than I thought it would so walking is difficult; I have some family members that are going through some personal hell of their own, and the list goes on but you get the picture.
Now that I have you totally depressed; here is the punchline if you will….
With ALL of this going on, I am still here and you want to know why? Look at the above verse I put up today. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Meaning simply that there is nothing or no one in all of existence that can take away the love Jesus Christ has for us. NOTHING. Once you have TRULY given your life to Him and strive every day to become more like Him, He is there with you forever….
THAT is what has kept me upright this week. The idea that someone as wretched as me, with all my faults, can be loved no matter what is enough to keep me getting out of that bed each day and hoping for a better one. Not only that but KNOWING that one day I will be in Paradise with the One that provides that love.
Friends, have you had a rough week? Maybe you have had a rough year or couple of years; heck maybe your whole life seems to be one big train wreck that keeps looping over and over. I give you Good News! God’s love for you today is more powerful than ALL of that combined! It is the very fiber that holds the Universe together and yet at the same time gives you purpose and comfort and eternal salvation all rolled into one.
Look to Him today, God is a gentleman and will never force Himself onto you. His love is waiting; are you ready? Have a great Saturday friends!
Good morning everyone and welcome to Sunday! Hope you all had a great Saturday, I know I did. Got to spend some time with my soon to be Daughter early in the day then with my youngest son later watching a scare the poop out of you movie. (It is kind of our thing since no one else in the family likes them). Also had a relatively sick free day which was definitely needed; I almost feel human again. My hip what my hip is; learning to live with it I guess until the doctor can fix me haha. Now onto the meat……
I posted this quote from Ted Dekker because he has such a grasp on what has happened to us as believers. I mean, do we not always try to analyze things with our brains? God did give us our brains to use but He gave us something even more powerful to use; our hearts. He also tells us that our lives are not encapsulated in one moment but in a series of moments throughout our lives; in essence, our journey. A journey that is often filled with many “noises”. Everywhere we go we have something trying to distract us; our phones, our tablets, our PC’s, our TV’s, all filled with one purpose; to distract us and keep us moving like the pervebial gerbil on his wheel…….
However, before we can truly start on our journey that God has laid out for us every day, we must be still. Be still in our thoughts, in our actions, and in our hearts. We must be still so when God speaks to us we can actually hear what He is saying and not just assume that something is “what God put on my heart”. How do we know when we are so distracted? More often than not its really what WE want, not necessarily what God has for us. To know for sure we must be still so God can truly transform our hearts and our minds. Have a great Sunday everyone! Love to hear from you and welcome to the new people that started following this writer yesterday; he very much appreciates it 😉
