What we allow to captivate our thoughts, will control our lives. The things on which we think, whether negativity, worry, fear or positivity, such as the incredible love of God. If we do not like our thoughts, we can have another thought. The things that we think on, determines how we live our lives. Substitute the Word of God to meditate on and not negativity. It will change your life!
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. (Proverbs 4:23 NLT)

Happy Tuesday everyone! Well it seems that many of you like only getting the one message a day and while my views were WAY down, content is what means most so I will continue with just the one.
Oh this Proverb is so timely…In a world where it’s all about how we “feel”, it’s important more than ever to understand that we must guard against what our heart is telling us. How we react to that feeling determines which path we will walk.
Keep in mind today friends that while we always want to love others with all our heart, it can be deceived by the Evil One. Pray for discernment so God can tell you if your “feelings” are from Him.

“Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.“- Matthew 9:17
Good morning/afternoon/evening friends! I have to start putting that as my intro because so many of you peeps are from around the world. For many of you its evening, but for me I’m just getting up with coffee in hand. I am off again today to enjoy an extended holiday before going back to work for one day. I’m blessed.
So, this is a passage that until recently never really made much sense to me. I felt like the disciples did back with Jesus when He would tell them something and they were totally clueless. I actually have that feeling quite a bit, but its ok because just like they did, when the time is right, I will have understanding. In any case, this passage is quite the eye opener if you dig deeper….
So often in our walk with Christ, we put on clothes of legalism and subscribe to a “checklist” if you will of rules and regulations:
- Go to church on Sunday at 10:30 and Wednesday at 6:00
- Read my Bible at the same time every morning.
- Say my prayers before going to bed.
- Join groups that have the same values and desires as me.
- Memorize Scripture
All of these are great things and I highly support all of them (in one form or another). Problem is that we are trying to implement these things without first changing the wineskin (our old self), instead of first creating a new wineskin (our new self in Christ)! Its like not watering a plant for a month and so it dies, then one day you decide to start watering it and discover that while it absorbs the water, there are no lasting effects. What you would have to do is replace the plant with a new one, with new life, THEN start giving it water and nutriment. When it comes to our walk with Jesus, we are no different. Doing these things without replacing our old life is pointless.
Friends, Jesus told us that through Him we can do great things and even experience the Kingdom of Heaven right now. We can only do that if we change our wineskin and realize who and what we are as a new creation in Christ. We must understand that to get there we must truly die to self and completely surrender to Jesus. I know that some of you are struggling with this; even those in my own family. But I assure you that nothing will ever truly change unless you take this path.
“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”- Galatians 2:20
Change the wineskin my friends,
Good Saturday morning everyone! Hope you all had a great week and are ready for some down time. I’m sure ready for some “non-excitement” for a while. Things have been too crazy for my liking, amen? Speaking of crazy, this was on my heart this morning after reading a few things and had to share….Ready?
So, when I started this blog, I pointed out that part of the message I had was to expose those that are preaching at best ignorance and at worst a totally false prophet message. This is one of those days….Every time I turn around lately I’m seeing this…
- You can’t be a Christian if……
- Your faith in Jesus isn’t real if….
- If your not doing this, you can’t call yourself a Christian
Just typing those words makes me mad. Why? Because let me be very clear, NO ONE knows the true relationship between someone and God other than, yep you guessed it, someone and God. Yes,
- “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”(Matthew 7:15-20)
The problem most people have in understanding this verse is that we assign works that WE think are righteous and good and not necessarily what God does. The key part of this verse is “but inwardly they are ravenous wolves”. Are you and I so smart and in tune with our Spirit that we can truly make a judgement on the intent of someone’s soul? I’ve tried that game before and been wrong every time.
I have seen many people in the ministry that have testified later on that they had never committed to Jesus as their Savior yet played the part perfectly. Does it not make sense then also that what may appear to be bad fruit in someone is really good fruit, just from a different perspective? Are we so perfect that we have a hold on exactly what is good and what is evil? I think not; I think there is only One that can make that call and it is none of us my friends…..
So please, STOP making assumptions on someone’s salvation based on what you see. Your vision is probably distorted and it is not up to us to judge where others are in their walk. Stop being pulled by the strings of Religion and get to understand the true nature of Christ. Amen?
