Happy Saturday!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Saturday! I’m not sure about all of you but this has been a stressful week. At my job they have completed one round of layoffs and on Monday morning I find out if I am part of the second. Part of me is ok if I am because the severance package will be nice and I have been praying for a fresh start. Whether or not this is in God’s plan and timing, I guess will be determined in a couple of days.

In either case, I will do my best to find joy in the decision; these are unprecedented times and the one thing I am sure of is God’s plans are WAY better than mine.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10

Psalm 51.10

Its funny because when I sat down to write this message, I really had no idea what to write about. With so much going on, I could literally talk about thousands of relevant topics. But when I looked back at my verse of the day; it hit me as to exactly what God wanted me to talk about. (Usually this is when God has the biggest impact when I just let His Spirit guide me and stop trying to control it.)

Years ago, I was hit by a car as I darted across the street. Even from this early age of 13, the Evil One was trying to take me out. I won’t get into all the graphic details, but all things considered I fared pretty well. But one of the things that happened still sticks with me today and leads me to what I believe God wants me to share with you all.

So, I was unconscious for about 10 hours; any longer and the doctor said there could have been serious issues. But with God’s Grace I awoke and once I got my wits about me and what had happened, my arm REALLY hurt. I had quite a few injuries but this one in particular REALLY hurt. So when I gathered enough courage, I looked down and my forearm was basically completely exposed down to the bone. It was bloody, full of gravel, and was the worst pain I had ever felt. Then the fun part came….

The nurses came in with this peroxide stuff and what was essentially a scrub brush. I’m thinking, what are they going to do with that?? Well, they said, “we need to get out all the gravel and dirt so your arm doesn’t get infected. Then we can stitch you up”. I’m like, YOU COULDN’T HAVE DONE THIS WHILE I WAS UNCONSCIOUS?????

In any event, they did what they had to and all was well. I do have a reason for telling you this story and here it goes. See the Scripture above is the Psalmist asking God to create a new heart and a new spirit within him. For those of us that are disciples of Jesus Christ, we should be asking the same thing. The thing is though, be careful what you ask for because just like my how my arm needed to be cleaned out to avoid infection, when God goes to clean out your heart, it also will cause some pain.

Things that you never realized will come to light as God uses His “scrub brush” to clean out your old heart and spirit. Just as the doctor was preparing my arm for healing, God is preparing your heart for not only healing but Heaven! Every time the doctor took a swipe at the opening in my forearm the pain was unbearable, but in the end, it saved my arm. In the same way, every “swipe” God takes at your old and wretched heart and spirit, it WILL cause you pain, but in the end, it will save your SOUL.

Yes you are a new Creation in Christ and by believing in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have gained Eternal Life. But it doesn’t stop there! There isn’t some magic event that happens that make you perfect. From that point on God, if you let Him, will continue to purge that old, wretched heart, and replace it with a new pure one that is ready for your next life. (And makes the current one better as well)

May God bless each of you today and know this above all else; God loves you more than you can possibly imagine and as those of us that are parents understand, sometimes the best thing for His children is to allow some temporary pain to bring out lasting transformation that will make us better than ever before.

In Jesus’ name.

Amen

Radically Saved

I have been feeling attacked by my Enemy today. So I put away my devices, went outside on my lunch, and listened for God. He spoke to me; just keep focused on Me He said. Praise God He never leaves us alone. Just have to listen!

In Jesus name!

Jesus Is Lord!

Good morning again and Happy Sunday! I hope you all made it through the work week unscathed and are ready for a nice relaxing weekend. It was a tough one for me I know in all areas; Spiritually, Physically, and Mentally so I am hoping for a bit of a break from the battle, Amen?

Ok so I have really been on this struggle bus if you will between telling the Truth’s of the Gospel and yet still not causing division in the process. I mean, what good is telling others the Truth about Jesus if they aren’t going to listen because of the content of your message. In this world we live in now, if it isn’t a message about self love and “what’s in it for me?” most don’t listen. Want to know what I’ve discovered today? It’s impossible….

As with all things let us look at Jesus’ ministry shall we?

1. He only had twelve disciples; one of which was being controlled by Satan.

2. Very few people He encountered understood what He was saying much less acted upon it.

3. People hated Him because of the message He brought.

4. Even His own disciples doubted His message at times.

5. In the Garden, even Jesus was so distraught over the Truth of what was going to happen, He was sweating blood! (Luke 22:44)

So, with all of that, do you think my results will be any different? I would say that if the Son of God Himself faced all of these things, its a good bet that I will as well. Amen? So what to do….Well, I can just give up and sit in the corner waiting for Jesus to return or I can do what Jesus did and just continue to tell the Truth in Love of His Gospel message. Will I offend people? Yep. Will people block and unfriend me? Yep. Will people even get angry and insult me? Yep. But you know what? No matter what they do to me will ever match up to what Jesus had to endure. The same goes for all of you; don’t be afraid today, be BOLD!

And with that here are some plain and simple Truths…

1. There is a God that created everything in the Universe including you and me. (We did not come from pond scum)

2. Jesus of Nazareth was a real person on this planet that had a ministry that produced many miracles. (And oh by the way, that person was also God’s only Son and the Savior of all mankind.)

3. Jesus died a real death on the Cross of Calvary and endured physical suffering like no other.

4. Three days after His death, He rose again and appeared to hundreds if not thousands of people.

5. After a time, He ascended back to Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father until His calling to come back.

6. He WILL becoming back, except this time in Judgment for those that refused to follow God and the way of true love through Christ.

7. Those that have given their heart to Jesus will enter into Heaven with Jesus for all eternity. Those that do not will live their eternity in a VERY REAL PLACE called HADES. (I promise you it exists…..)

8. No matter what you have done, you can still come to Jesus today! He loves you more than you can imagine and is there for you. All you have to do is ask! Jesus is a gentleman and will never force His way into your heart; you have to invite Him in.

9. No one goes to the Father BUT THROUGH HIM (Jesus). Not Mary, not Paul, not Saint whoever, JESUS AND JESUS ALONE IS THE WAY TO THE FATHER!

10. You are not promised tomorrow so secure your future today! (Also, secure your present; Jesus said we can experience the Kingdom of God right here!)

Friends, I hope you take some time to digest all of this and evaluate where you stand. Time is short and the decision to make may be made for you if your not careful. I appreciate and love all of you and if you agree with these Truths, please share this message with someone today! (Reblog, repost, like, whatever, just share it). Not for my glory, but for His! Amen!

Talk soon,

David

Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday everyone and welcome to the weekend!

I hope you all enjoyed my first blog post back yesterday. It really is good writing again and I hope to hear from each of you soon.

Today we are in the book of Psalms. A passage that I know challenges me; how about you? Waiting is never something that comes easy for me; I want things done now and if not my OCD goes into overdrive. Can you relate?

Problem is that when we are not patient on the Lord to fulfill His will for our lives, things always go wrong. How many times have you got tired of waiting on a certain prayer or a certain career opportunity and just took things on your own timeline. What were the results? In my experience, they never work out well.

Not only that, but then God shows me WHY I was supposed to wait.He is such a good Father, Amen?

Friends, if we say today that we trust the Lord, then we must wait on His timing in our lives. Its not all bad waiting though because He has given His children the Holy Spirit, which when we allow it, will give us peace and understanding while we wait.

Make your goals and dreams set to His timing and watch the results exceed anything you could have ever imagined. Amen?

Love and Blessings,

David

Be Careful

Good morning everyone and welcome to the weekend! I’m not sure about all of you but this week seemed to take forever to get through. Lots of stuff going on at work, so I am truly grateful for my time off this weekend. How about all of you? Comment below!

So..what’s your secret? Have I grabbed your attention yet? Good. Because today I am writing about something that we all as Christians need to get a grip with; we ALL have secrets. Some we have shared with those closest to us, others we have shared with no one but God Himself. Point still remains that we all have done something in our lives that we have done to which very view people know about.

Why is this important today? Why is this important to Christians today?

I will tell you! It is important because I see a lot of judgment going around in my Christian circles and its disturbing on so many levels despite the fact that “yes we are called to judge each other as believers“. So let’s get a couple of points straight on that..

  1. To judge each other in this context does not mean to be harsh or nasty to others that make a mistake. It means to help hold each other accountable IN AGAPE LOVE, and guide our fellow believers out of bad decisions. Not to sit around on the internet and mock them or doubt their faith.
  2. Have all the planks really been taken out of your eyes? (This is where the secret part comes in.)

Number 2 is where we really lose many people because, well, let me put it this way. Let’s say that I had the ability to record your every thought, your every hidden action, your every emotion and desire and not only see and hear all of this but also put it on a 100 inch movie screen for all to see.. Would you still feel empowered to judge your neighbor? To doubt others claims of Salvation? Guess what friends, it’s GOING to happen. The passage from Luke above is clear; one day all of these things will be revealed. How would this make you feel if I was the one doing this? You would probably be less inclined to throw others under the bus and worry about yourself, Amen?

Look friends, I am all for helping others in their walk with Jesus. We ALL need help and can always be better by taking counsel of those that may be wiser than us in certain areas. BUT, what we need less of is the judgment and condemnation that so many in the Church are offering. Jesus told us that before we can judge others, we must judge ourselves. Have you done that today? Have you taken complete ownership of those secrets you carry around?

Yes, Jesus has set us free, but that freedom does not give you the power to judge others and condemn. You have been given 2 main missions while on this Earth and they are this:

  1. To Love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, and strength and to love others greater than you love yourself.
  2. To spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all that will hear.

Today, let us focus on those two missions and let God be the judge, Amen? May God bless each and every one of you this day and all God’s people said?

Agape Love,

David

Be Happy!

Jesus second coming In the clouds

Psalm 37:4- Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

God

Good morning everyone! I didn’t think I would be able to write a blog post this morning because we went to see my Grandson play his football game, then we were going to go help our youngest son finish moving. However, he called us to say that he got it all done and while he would love to see us, didn’t really need our help anymore. So, with things tight around our own move, we stayed home and well here I am! Hopefully the message God has given me hits home.

Be happy….

I know in the world we live in, it becomes increasingly difficult to be happy and joyful. Seemingly every time you turn around, someone or something is determined to ruin your day. Can anyone relate? Our world has become evil beyond anything I ever thought I would see in my lifetime and honestly, there are not too many Christ Followers that I find I can count on either. (That is a topic for a different post.)

So, if your like me, I just hold on tight to God and my Bride and deflect all others that would try and bring me down. Problem is though, that is not the way God wants us to live. He didn’t send His Son Jesus to die on the Cross so we could be miserable all the time, no He wants us to find joy! Joy not in what the world offers but with what HE offers; both here and in the life to come.

Have we forgotten what awaits those who accept the free gift of Salvation?

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Jesus Christ

Can you even begin to wrap your mind around that concept? No more tears, no more death, no more pain..My gosh what a gift! Yet many of us live as if this world is all there is; friends, its time to BE HAPPY!

Do our circumstances get rough? Yes, Jesus said they would. Are there times where we feel like giving up? Yes, Jesus said that we would. Are there times where you feel like everyone is against you? Yes, Jesus said many would fall from their faith and family would turn against each other (in some cases). But He also has said that through Him we have ALREADY overcome!

Yes in the next life it will all be perfect, but we can live a life worth living here as well! Paul said to “keep our eyes on the prize” and if we do that, how can we possibly live a life of unhappiness. So how about it? Can we focus on what is really important today? Can we live the life of joy that Christ wants us too?

You have given the world its shot, give Jesus His, Amen?

What Do You Seek?

Matthew 6:33 -“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “

What this morning do you truly seek first? Money? Power? Fame? Only One thing can give you what you truly need.

🙏🙏

Amazing

1 Chronicles 16:24 -“Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.”

It’s so easy to only talk about the negative; maybe today we talk about just how amazing our God is?

Blessings,

David
