Gentle Words

SOMETIMES WE JUST DON”T realize how powerful our words and actions are in not only our lives but the lives of others….

Last night my Bride and went with my middle son and his Bride to grab a bite to eat and see a movie; not just any movie but the movie Unplanned. What I saw in the next two hours put me through a roller coaster of emotions that I wasn’t ready for…

As some of you know my mother had an abortion when I was just 13 years old; long before I became a Christ follower. Even then, however, I saw the full effects of abortion not only for the baby but for the mom as well. I saw the soul get sucked out of my mom that day; a soul that never returned unfortunately.

So right from the start I have been Pro-Life and even more so when I became a Christian. Up until this point I really didn’t know how to fully support my cause other than to have disgust for women that could do such a evil and grotesque action against their own child. Again, I saw what it did to my mom and it filled me with an even bigger rage; a rage that has become very un-Christ like….

So when we went to the movie last night, I figured what I would see would just reinforce that rage and I would become even more of a “Champion” for the unborn. I was only half right in that assessment…

What I saw in that movie was not Pro-Life people filled with rage and disgust, but a true love for those women that drove them to give other options both to the women going into the clinic and those that worked there as well. What I learned was an interesting statistic that if you think about it is really not that surprising..

“The No-Show rate for women that schedule an abortion rises up to 75% when the people outside the fences are on their knees praying vs. holding up picket signs and screaming at them

Wow, all of a sudden I felt guilty myself! I have been one of those people on the outside of the fences with the picket signs. I have only done that a couple of times but still felt like I had someway helped push those women that day into that horrible decision. Back to roller coaster…..

I wont give away the details but suffice it to say this movie holds back nothing; it is very graphic and very raw about what an abortion looks like, what the effects are, and what lies are told in these centers. It also is not your typical “feel good” Christian movie; yes it brings God into it but it centers itself around facts and real medical situations. I don’t know how even the most dedicated Pro-Choice person can leave this movie not feeling at least a little changed.

So what now? Well, Abby Johnson is making a huge difference since leaving Planned Parenthood and exposing the evil that really goes on there. Thing about it, just like the movie, she is doing it with Grace, with Love, and just presenting facts. No name calling, no judgment, just remorse and a desire to help others have a true option for their lives. For me, I think we should all follow Abby’s lead here. Put down the picket signs, stop posting pictures of dismembered babies and utilize the most powerful weapon in our fight against evil; PRAYER!

There is no sin too great that God cannot heal you from and offer forgiveness. A lot of progress has been made recently in our fight for the unborn, let’s continue that fight by offering the same forgiveness and love to those that oppose us. Let us finish this fight in the way Christ called us to; LOVE. Amen?

In Christ,

In other words friends, do not put all your trust in people, instead put that trust in the Lord. New post coming soon..

I Can Only Imagine

My Bride and I just went and saw this movie today and am left speechless. Such a powerful story of redemption and how Jesus can turn our pain into such joy and grace and love.

Stay Strong!

Know Scripture?

Think you know Scripture? Guess what friends? So does Lucifer and he knows it better than any of us. Still, his destiny lies in eternal torment. We must know the author personally and vow to serve Him and Him alone in all we do. Amen?

Love to all!

Good Palm Sunday everyone. I hope that each of you is having a great weekend and enjoying time with family and friends. I know I have had a great few days with my Bride getting stuff done and seeing some family. I would continue to ask for prayer as a close family member of ours is nearing the end of her fight with cancer. Its all in God’s timing though amen? She is just a reminder of how precious this gift called life we have been given and how really little time we have here….

So, I have to be honest, my spirit is a little “off” today. I think my “march” post somehow got misinterpreted based on some comments that were made. I’m not sure how much clearer I can make it but what I was calling for was true believers to unite and proclaim the Gospel as much as we march for other things. What I was disturbed to find out is apparently there are two gospels out there; a “left” gospel and a “right” gospel….Really? Is there really that mindset out there or is it part of a bigger problem? I think the latter is the right scenario and that leads me to my main point for today…

Once again, Lucifer has to do nothing to infiltrate the church because we are doing it all on our own. We pick apart God’s Word and use it to fit our own agendas, we hold on to some legalistic rules that are either not in the Bible at all or have been taken completely out of context, and sadly we are silent….Silent though in a way that speaks volumes over any actual words we could articulate.

We have become perfectly fine with going to a building for 2 hours a week while the world around us goes to hell (literally). We can’t even agree now that there is ONE Gospel! Somehow politics weaves its ugly head into this and it becomes a “left” or “right” thing. Amazing…..Meanwhile we have major corporations throwing it in our faces that the only god that they acknowledge is “progress”. My gosh where is the outrage?? Can it be that we are more worried about our jobs than what Christ has called us to do? I get its difficult people but come people is it more difficult than this??

Did God not promise how much He loves you and how much He would take care of you no matter what?

Matthew 6:25-33-“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

I just don’t know how else to put it anymore other than to keep on saying, we need to repair this division within God’s people and unite as one voice that Jesus is Lord and we will not tolerate the evil anymore! If we can’t do that, then we might of as well just pledge our allegiance to Lucifer and call it a day. God doesn’t want perfection, but He does want followers that are real and love Him enough to do the simple tasks He asks of us. Put down your own self interests, and spend time today figuring out what part in this He wants you to serve. Is that too much to ask for the One that sacrificed it all?
