Have You Been Crucified?

Galatians 5:24-“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

Galations 5 24

Hello everyone; I hope your weekend is going magical! As I get closer to my Disney World vacation in October, you will slowly see many references to said mouse. Hope they don’t get too annoying but Mickey is a pretty big deal to the Fischer Family. 🙂

So, about my question, have you been crucified? Its really an important question because without it, you are 10 steps behind where you need to be; or should I say where you could be…See the Bible could not be more clear about our relationship with Christ and what is required. We do have to be careful because we still live in a sin filled world and will continue to sin in ways we don’t even realize until the resurrection. However in this case, intent means almost as much as the action itself.

Clearly God does not want us nailed to a Cross like Jesus did; that would negate the need for Jesus as then we could take care of our own sin problem. He does however want us to nail our passions and desires there instead. For example; how many times a day do you say, “I want this” or “my passion for life is this”. I do it, you do it, we all do it, but that is because we haven’t fully given ourselves to Him. Still clinging on to Lucifer’s realm with that last tiny bit of hope that we can stay in control. That way we can put Jesus on the shelf for the big things while still controlling our destiny. WRONG; its not the way it works folks.

I blame in part the Church; we preach this message of “I can do anything through Christ Jesus” which is very true but NOT from OUR passions and OUR desires but HIS! See, you can’t put the cart before the horse here; to achieve all that we are meant to achieve, our flesh (OUR passions and desires) must be crucified and then replaced with those of our Lord. THEN through Christ Jesus we can do all things. See the difference?

Makes me so mad when I hear this preached wrong for it is another form of bondage that most Christians can never escape from. Always wondering why they can never achieve what is “on their heart to do”. Why things never work out the way they want them to; this folks is why. You MUST crucify the flesh and all that it wants!

Friends, it comes in steps. So today I ask you, what is one passion or want that you can give to Lord to put on the Cross? Just one simple thing for God, can you do that? I assure you, He will replace that with something more fulfilling than anything you could have imagined……Have a great Saturday peeps!

God’s Word

Isaiah 55:11 -“It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”

God’s Word never returns void, Amen?

There Is Still Time

Joel 2:12 -“That is why the LORD says,”Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.”

During this Catholic holiday of Lent, I wonder how many have actually given their hearts to the Lord Jesus? First things first friends..

Blessings,

So I have had my blog now for almost 2 years and I believe that many have dropped off the blogging train since then. So to get back to a more close knit community I am asking that if you still follow this blog to please comment below. I will be doing a little housecleaning and don’t want to miss anyone that is still here.

Thanks again everyone for your support and many blessings to you and your families.

Double Minded

“James 4:8- “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands you sinners and purify your hearts; you double minded”

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday! This week seemed to take forever! It definitely took a lot out of me both physically and spiritually but God is good and this weekend I plan on doing a lot of recharging. Thank you too to all those that have been praying for me as I work really hard to achieve some short term goals of mine. On to what God has given me today…

So I have read the NT from front to back a few times in my life but it never ceases to amaze me how much new stuff I learn when I go back and re-read things. In James, like most of the NT, you would initially think he is talking to unbelievers. I mean, if what I see from many Christians today as far as pointing fingers and judging others is concerned, this book would seem to fall right in line with their way of thinking. However, when you look closer, you start to see that really, James is talking to a whole different group of people. Here are three thoughts on the passage I am focusing on today:

1. James is talking to the Church!- Where is our James today? Not all but many of us as believers have fell into the trap Satan set for us since Jesus rose from the dead; working so hard at pointing fingers at others that we have forgotten to hold ourselves accountable first. Who is holding the Church accountable today? We need more people like James.

2. Verse 4 lays out the truth!- James tells us four verses earlier that being double minded is to be “an Enemy of God”! What? You don’t agree? How many passages has God left us about serving two masters? You can’t serve the world AND serve God and if you serve the world then you serve ITS master (Lucifer). Ouch! Again remember that James is speaking to people that consider themselves believers. Makes you think about where we are today does it not?

3. Our relationship with God is a two-way street!- James speaks of the fact that if we will draw near to God, He will draw near to us. See this is the thing that we all get backwards sometimes. We think that once we accept Jesus as Savior that all is rosy and we can just sit back and let God bless us…WRONG! God loves us so much that not only have we been given the free gift of eternal salvation through Jesus Christ, but we have also been given free will. Free will to make up to the minute decisions on whether or not we want Him in our lives. (We do decide that each minute whether or not you realize it or not). So with that free will we must choose to reach out to Him and ask Him to be part of our lives daily. God is a gentleman and will never force Himself on us. (A wise Pastor told me that once)

Friends, consider this a “James message”. We must stop pointing our fingers on social media about how bad people are and start pointing that finger back at ourselves. We must start to begin a period of self-reflection on if how we as believers are acting is truly furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ OR is it simply bringing attention to ourselves. People have never been brought into the Kingdom by shaming them or telling them how bad they are but instead from them seeing the Light of Jesus in our daily lives. How can we get that light burning again? See James 4:8….

Love you all and please help spread this message. Time is short for all of us…

Agape Love,

David
